At Nellie McClung School, we have both a School Council and a Parent Advisory Council (PAC).
The Nellie McClung School Council is ALL OF US – parents, teachers, staff, community. All parents or guardians of students at Nellie McClung School are automatically part of its School Council. The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is the fundraising charitable entity of the Nellie McClung School Council. School and Parent Advisory Councils play a vital role in the school community supporting school activities, assisting in implementing programs and operate fundraising activities that provide important extras that might not be financially possible otherwise.
School Council’s purpose is to advise the principal and the board respecting matters relating to the school. School councils in Alberta are regulated by the School Act.

Parent Advisory Council’s purpose is to support and enrich school programs or specific programs in the school that address the needs and success of students. As a registered charitable entity, it is regulated by the Societies Act.
