Requirements

Persons wishing to work with children in any Calgary Board of Education school (i.e. in-class volunteering, field trips) MUST have volunteer clearance prior to volunteering.  If you are a(n):

Unregistered Volunteer: Please go to the school office and complete a Volunteer Police Security Form. Please bring one piece of picture I.D. (i.e. Driver’s license, Passport, Nexus Card ). Please note Police Security Screening is now done online.  Once the completed form is entered into the volunteer system, a letter and the online CPS link will be emailed to you for completion. Police clearances are good for 5 years.

Registered Volunteer at any other CBE School: Please email Wendy Worthy, wlworthy@cbe.ab.ca, with your birth date and she can add you to the Nellie McClung volunteer group.

Registered Volunteer at Nellie McClung School:   Once a volunteer is cleared, the school office will print a volunteer name tag for each volunteer. Volunteers will sign in and pick up their tags at the school office before entering classrooms.

Please note that the annual CBE Volunteer Registration Form must be completed by all parents. This form will be kept on file at the school. Even with the form, you will not be able to volunteer in your child’s(ren) class or on field trips without volunteer clearance.
